The Portsmouth Museums Foundation is proud to celebrate the generosity of community partners like Tidewater Striders, whose commitment to giving back continues to make a meaningful difference in our community.
The Elizabeth River Run started in 1979, and the event returned to Portsmouth for its 47th year. We were happy to welcome this wonderful event back to Portsmouth. A special thank-you to Thomas Hicks and the entire Tidewater Striders team for their generous donation to the Portsmouth Museums Foundation from the proceeds of the Elizabeth River Run!
This contribution reflects the power of community partnerships and the many ways local organizations can come together to support meaningful causes. Through their generosity, Tidewater Striders is helping advance the Foundation’s mission to support the Children’s Museum of Virginia and create engaging, educational experiences for children and families throughout our region.
Our partnership with Tidewater Striders is particularly special because their support extends beyond this generous contribution. Each spring, they serve as the official race timing partner for the Foundation’s annual Bunny Hop 5K, helping bring this beloved community event to life and making it a memorable experience for participants of all ages.
From the Elizabeth River Run to the Bunny Hop 5K, Tidewater Striders demonstrates that making a difference is about more than crossing a finish line; it’s about showing up for your community. We are incredibly grateful to the Tidewater Striders for going the extra mile for the Portsmouth Museums Foundation and the Children’s Museum of Virginia. Thank you for being such wonderful partners in supporting our community’s children and families!
