The Portsmouth Museums Foundation is excited to announce a generous pledge of $25,000 from Bruce Lalonde, a passionate advocate for education, creativity, and community. His incredible contribution will help advance the mission of the Foundation and build capacity to generate private and public funds for the Children’s Museum of Virginia.
For decades, the Children’s Museum of Virginia has stood as a cornerstone of Portsmouth’s cultural and educational landscape. As a place where young minds are inspired and lifelong memories are made, the museum’s work depends heavily on the generosity of community members like Bruce Lalonde. His gift is a shining example of how local, individual support can create a lasting impact.
Mr. LaLonde, a lifelong resident of Portsmouth, expressed his enthusiasm for the Portsmouth Museums Foundation’s mission. “I believe in the power of local initiatives to create lasting positive change, and I am honored to support an organization that truly embodies that spirit,” said LaLonde.
“We are deeply grateful to Bruce for his commitment to our mission,” said Portsmouth Museum Foundation Board President Bridget Host. “Gifts from local donors ensure that we are in a strong position to support the museum in building on their vision for generations to come.”
With this contribution, Bruce Lalonde joins a growing group of supporters who recognize that investing in children today builds a brighter tomorrow. His pledge is allocated to support the Bunny Hop 5k & 1 Mile Family Fun Run, an annual family-friendly fundraiser hosted by the Portsmouth Museums Foundation. Mr. Lalonde, in addition to TowneBank, are the Title Sponsors for this event.
The Portsmouth Museums Foundation invites others to follow Bruce’s lead and become part of the story that keeps our region’s children dreaming big. Because when one person gives, countless futures grow.
